About Kolsai Lakes

The Kolsai Lakes are a system of three stunning alpine lakes, often called "The Pearl of the Northern Tian Shan." The lakes are nestled in a forested mountain gorge, connected by a hiking trail. The water is incredibly clear and changes color throughout the day.

Historical Context

These lakes were formed by landslides that created natural dams on the Kolsai River. The area, particularly the nearby village of Saty, has gained international recognition from the UNWTO for its sustainable and community-based tourism approach.
